Belts. They are not just a useful way to hold up pants anymore , but a statement that brings an outfit together. Belts can truly make or break any look.
A great urban way to pull together an outfit is with an Off-White belt. This thick cloth belt has laid the ground work for the mixture of a classy street looks. Some of my favorite styles are when it is mixed in a monochromatic, neutral outfit. The thickness & length of the belt are enough of a statement for me, however, some fashionistas like to take it a step further with

bold colors. Not only is the brand emphasized, but the color of the belt ties unifies the outfit. As shown to the right, the neon pink compliments the soft purples and pinks of her top. The black biker shorts and white blazer are balanced with the intensity of the neon pink. Yet again, we see a professional staple thrown over a sporty outfit.
A way to add femininity to an outfit is through the simple use of a waist chain. This can be done over a casual pair of jeans or an elegant dress. I have also seen this belt placed over an oversized suit jacket, turning it into a dress. There are so many
ways to style a waist chain, there is no going wrong. Not only does it compliment a women's waist line, but also adds a bit of character. This type of belt can be a brand, like Chanel, or a simple chain, looking equally as classy. While shown here in gold, I have also seen these looks accomplished in silver or even with a stand of pearls. This belt really allows the wearer creativity.
The most useful belt that I have seen are fanny packs. It almost does not sound right referring to these waist purses as a fanny pack, but alas, the tourist bag has emerged from its ugly cocoon into a beautiful designer bag. I could not be happier. This is the perfect bag for someone who wants a hands free bag along with a snatched waist. Although the style shown below can be considered a more high end look, these belt bags can be worn so many ways. One go my favorite ways to style a fanny pack is diagonally across the chest. One can pain them with pants or skirts, sporty or chic, dressed down or dressed up. Just big enough to hold your phone and lip gloss.

All in all, belts add character. They are not a necessity anymore, but a preference of self expression. In a world full of options, everyone wears their belt a little different than the next; that's the beauty of it.
