As the summer trend carries over into autumn, the suit jacket is your girls best friend this season.

The heat is giving way to a nip in the air - everyone is looking for that extra layer of warmth to throw over their shoulders in the morning. This season, the classiest layer of choice is the suit.

There are so many ways to wear this timeless piece, let's start with the basics; a set. You can never go wrong with a simple, solid, matching pantsuit set. Throw in a pop of color and you're easy going chic.

Today's fashion industry makes it so easy to turn a corporate atmosphere into a catwalk. Long gone are the days where we are confined to fitted black, grey, navy blue suits and a "sensible" heel. Now, the original suit has been cut into pieces; sets come with shorts and skirts. I've seen fashionistas constantly play with the complimenting colors, mixing matching sets with urban pieces. A simple dress doctored up with a boyfriend jacket makes you 100% workday ready. For a more causal day, jeans and a jacket are a perfect solution.

I love how suit jackets just kicked everything up a notch. Leggings, a t-shirt, and your favorite gym shoes are cozy, but throwing on a suit jacket gives you a professional edge to take on the day.
