Season Staples

Fall is in full swing and there are some pieces your wardrobe needs!

The Boot (of course) is a must have. Every autumn, we can expect a comeback from our cozy, closed toed friend. There are so many variations of boots; trends within the category shift from year to year. My favorite look this season are the knee highs shown above. A chunky heel makes for easy walking, and knee highs with a short skirt is a classic. You could even give this look a professional feel if you added a pointed toe boot instead.

Given the cold weather, layers are coming out! There are two specific styles that have caught my eye this season.

An oversized coat with clean lines is always in fashion. I personally love this coat because it looks good dressed up or dressed down. As shown above, it is paired with sneakers and lounge wear, making the entire outfit cozy (right down to her phone case). This coat could easily be pair with a heeled boot (as previously mentioned) and a dressy top would make good work-day attire. This coat could also be used as an accessory with a short part dress for a night on the town.

The puffer coat, either oversized or cropped, is how I know winter is just around the corner. While still in fall, this coat can be paired with breathable sportswear and tank tops; this allows for layering while preventing you from overheating. Due to their bulkiness, puffer coats are worn best in neutral and soft colors. They should compliment the outfit, not overwhelm it.

Leather is nothing new; however, a nice pair of leather pants is a must have for Fall 2019. A fuzzy sweater's best friend is sleek leather pants. They can be used as a compliment to the outfit (such as a smooth black with pair playful accessories) or the statement (like a red pair of leather pants mixed with neutrals). Either way you wear it, you have all the tools to be a full fall fashionista.
